The years of World War II marked artist Beaumont's most prolific period. In those days before television, his illustrations were highly sought after by newspapers and magazine editors. He created posters and prints that garnered public support for the war effort. Beaumont's insistence on accuracy and detail led to distinct "ship portraits" that identified ships as individual vessels.
