This World War I recruitment poster was sponsored by the Emergency Fleet Corporation of the United States Shipping Board in 1918. The image, by artist William Dodge Stevens, depicts shipbuilders working together to apply rivets to a ship and reminds us of the extraordinary efforts of Maine shipyards to build America's merchant fleet during WWI.
