This beautiful boat could be yours! This 11-foot Whitehall-style rowing boat began in a class at Wooden Boat School ca. 2010. The instructor, master boatbuilder Greg Rossel, drew the design from a late 1800s model. It was donated to the museum mostly completed, the Boatshop crew faired, caulked, and painted the hull and interior. The planking is Maine cedar on white oak frames; the brightwork is a combination of mahogany, cherry, and fir. This design was dubbed a "courting" Whitehall because of its length and passenger capacity - most Whitehalls were 14 to 18 feet. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20, and proceeds support the museum’s Discovery Boatbuilding Program. The winner will be drawn October 12, 2021 – good luck!
