All aboard — the ferry is loading and ready to sail. The Wooden Car Ferry is a stylish, beautifully detailed vehicle toy designed with round porthole windows, and the brilliant practical feature that makes ferry play so endlessly engaging: loading and unloading at both ends. Drive the vehicles on at the bow, cross the sea (or the playroom floor), and drive them off at the stern. Then turn around and repeat. The set includes a brightly colored car, a totable camper, a van, and a truck, so there's plenty to load and unload on every crossing. What makes this such a clever toy is how much it asks of a child. Loading the ferry takes careful spatial reasoning — working out the order of the vehicles, fitting them onto the deck, balancing the load. It also opens up wonderful storytelling possibilities: family holidays, deliveries to islands, rescue missions, anything a 3-year-old's imagination can conjure. Just the right size for little hands, measuring 13.98" x 4.53" x 4.72". Made from sustainably sourced wood, and finished with non-toxic paint.
