At 3295 feet on the tonnage desk, Wyoming was the largest commercial wooden sailing vessel ever built in the United states. The six-mast coastal schooner was built in less than 9 months and was the pride of the Percy & Small Shipyard in Bath, Maine. Launched December 15, 1909, Wyoming hauled coal, 6,000long tons at a time, along the Atlantic seaboard for most of it's career. The vessel and crew of 13 were lost in a gale off Cape Cod in March 1926.
