These marlinspikes are made on site in the Percy & Small Blacksmith Shop. Sailors use this tool to loosen knots and to splice ropes on ships of all sizes. They are sill in use today, even by our very own Merrymeeting crew! These marlinspikes are representative of an artifact currently on display in the Mill & Joiners Shop. Each one is hand forged and one of a kind. The length is approximately 6 1/2". The monkey fist knot is approximately 1" in diameter.
